The Fall of Matriarchal Society

Updated: Jul 1, 2021

In Greek myth, Gaia was the consort of Cronus, otherwise known as "father time," his status as a god is associated with the planet Saturn, and with the geometrical shape of the hexahedron, or cube. In ancient Sumeria he was referred to as Anu, and believed to be the supreme source of all authority.

On the other hand, Gaia was termed primordial chaos, and mother of all associated with the element Earth. She is personified as "Mother Nature", with characteristics similar to that of the Hindu deity, Shakti. Shakti also known as Kali, was the consort of Lord Shiva. Although Shakti is considered benevolent, her Kali side is that of a destroyer of all that is evil. She is worshipped as an all-powerful supreme being that doesn't take second stage to her male counterpart.

In Sumerian myth, we can correlate characteristics of Shakti with the conquered mother of Enki, "Ki" meaning earth, or Tiamat the "Primordial Chaos" considered to be the "mother of all," however, Shakti in Hindu myth is associated with the Sun. Considering that we use the sun to measure time, Shakti can be rightfully titled, "mother time".

The ancient Egyptians worshiped the Sun as the god, "Ra" before, and after the time of Pharaoh Akhenaten. Akhenaten is believed by some to be the biblical Moses, his most credible achievement is the initiate of a monotheistic religion based on himself, "the Aten" however, he was not a precursor of the three monotheistic religions known today as, Islam, Judaism, and Christianity. After his death, the elites of Egypt reversed his efforts and continued to worship the previous god, Amon-Ra. The description of Ra is that he was king over the gods, and creator of the universe. Ra fathered Ma'at, who was given charge over truth, justice, and cosmic order. As far as we know, a schism occurred at the time of Akhenaten that created utter chaos with the priestly class in Egypt, so much so that Akhenaten was over thrown by the chief priests, and they attempted to erase his name, as well as his son's name, Tutenkamen, from the history of Egypt. Some scholars believe this may have occurred during the time of the Hyksos expulsion. The Hyksos are thought to be the descendants of the biblical Israelite Joseph. The question arises as to why a new personification of a creator god was made into a male deity rather than female when older myths personify the mother of all as associated with the Sun, and Earth. Many civilizations of this time were matriarchal. Why did this change here?

The ancient Egyptians were refugees of Atlantis. When Atlantis fell they settled in Abydos, Egypt. Atlanteans as far as we know, are considered people descended from the Sumerian god Enki, or Greek god Poseidon. Could Poseidon may have been Atum to the ancient Egyptians? Atum is associated with the sun disk, and was later personified as Ra the sun god. As the first god of the pantheon, he created the first couple of the Ennead (a group of nine deities), through the use of his sperm, or as it is documented, through masterbation. This first couple were named Shu and Tefnut. Shu is thought to be the same individual as Atlas in Greek myth. This story is striking similar to the Sumerian myth of Enki creating the first Adapa (Adamite) by contributing his sperm then mixing the blood of Kingu, and the clay of the earth. According to Theoi Project under Greek Mythology, Poseidon had a progeny that spread from Egypt, Greece, Southern Italy, Sicily, Iberia, and the west coast of Africa (Libya). Greek myth informs us that Poseidon married a "daughter of men," and had five sets of male twins with her. Today, the rate of twins in modern day Nigeria is four times higher than that of the rest of the world. Could the biblical reference of fallen angels procreating with the daughters of men be revealing the actions of Enki, and the twelve original Sumerians who came to Earth from heaven, or Nibiru? Herodotus map of 450 BC includes the location of Atlantes, including Mt. Atlas in the area of North West of Africa, or what was called Libya at the time, with Aethiopia located below it. Are our myths really myths, or ancient history suppressed by organized religion, and conquering nations?

The ancient Sumerians worshipped Utu as the god of the sun and divine justice, truth, and morality. This male deity, Utu later became known as Shamash, Samas, and Babbar by the Akkadians, and Babylonians. Utu's twin sister is known as Inanna, or Ishtar (Queen of Heaven) to the Assyrio-Babylonians. Utu was believed to ride through the heavens in his sun chariot. According to myth he tried to protect Dumuzid, Innana's beloved partner before he was killed. His more famous appearance occurred when he caused Noah or (Ziusudra) to open a window on the ark after the water subsided. Noah then falls prostrate, to later sacrifices a sheep and an ox to Utu for delivering him to safety. Utu is also mentioned in the Babylonian, "Epic of Gilgamesh" as helping Gilgamesh defeat the ogre Huwawa, on the Cedar Mountain in Lebanon. Utu is referred to as Shamash in this epic. There is speculation that the Sumerian god Enki, forewarned Noah of the flood, could Utu be another name for Enki, or is Anu being referenced here?

Sumerian myth informs us of the inception of humanity after the slaying of the three primordial beings: Tiamat, Abzu, and Kingu. The blood of Kingu was mixed with clay to create the first Adapu, or Adamite (Adonis). The writers of the Hebrew bible depict Yahweh, the god of the Israelites with the light of the sun as being a power source, for example, God is light, however, Yahweh is also depicted to have created the sun and the stars. This seems to be oppositional to previous cultures who worshipped the sun as deity, or personified the sun with attributes of deity.

The biblical book of Revelation considered to be an end times manual alluded to a woman, the Queen of Heaven, or Whore of Babylon, clothed in the rays of the Sun. This woman thought to be Mary, the mother of God to the christians, and is also thought to be Mary, the wife of God to some. Still other conspiracy theorist believe this to be the anti-christ, the Catholic Church itself, however, Tiamat, "Primordial chaos," otherwise known as the mother of all was said to be conquered by her grandson, Marduk, with her consort conquered by her son's Enki and Enlil. If this is an accurate myth, and if we can attribute it to later pantheons, it reveals the fall of matriarchal society in Egypt, Babylonia, and Assyria where the cult centres of Enki and Enlil existed. Can we speculate that the location of the older generation of gods, Gaia and Uranus was located in India where matriarchal societies still exist? Currently there are matriarchal societies that have survived for centuries in locations such as India, Ghana, Indonesia, Costa Rica, the border area of Venezuela and Columbia, and historically the First Nations Societies of North America. These societies honour the feminine, and recognize the mother goddess associated with Earth energies.

The mother goddess governs the first Chakra centre, which initiates opening of eleven other energy centres. Could this be the stairway to heaven, the key to the engine of our light vehicle, Merkaba, or tree of life governed by the mother of all, God's Shekina, our Holy Mother, and creatrix of all living things? The tree of life, our chakra system is key to our awakening and development of awareness that leads to higher states of consciousness if we choose to embrace the teachings of the ancients. The first chakra associated with grounding one's energy, is governed by the divine mother of all, Shakti in Hindu myth, Gaia in Greek myth, and may be referred to as the Holy Spirit by Christians today. This fact is the Omega, the beginning and the end. Be light and love, seek Bindu - the point of creation.
