The Power of Mind

Updated: Mar 21, 2021

The concept that the mind has dominion has been known for centuries, in fact, the ancient Toltec's claimed that the mind's purpose is to create its own reality. Mahatma Gandhi confirms these ideas with his statement, "Your beliefs become your thoughts, your thoughts become your words, your words become your actions, your actions become your habits, your habits become your values, and your values become your destiny”. This can be interpreted as though we create our reality, but what is true is that we create our reality based on self-defeating beliefs, and behaviours, just as much as we do when we believe in ourselves. Whatever we choose to believe about ourselves, our point of power is in the moment, and this moment dictates our reality, therefore we have endless possibilities available to us. Some possibilities are restrictive based on limiting beliefs, and some reflect our true potential.

Our belief system impacts not only thoughts, but behaviours, for example, if we are convinced a certain medication can cure us, and are then given a sugar pill placebo in place of a medication that resulted in a cure, where is the point of power? In the sugar pill, or our belief in the moment? There is no scientific evidence to prove the metaphysical properties of the numerous types of crystal formations in existence today, however, many people believe in the healing properties of crystals, and use them to heal spiritually. Can crystals heal, or do they facilitate healing produced in the mind?

As far as we have come with technology, some things still exist such as sickness, suffering and death. If our natural inheritance includes life, health, and happiness, why do we still experience the opposite? Ancient Kundalini Yoga techniques have been researched and proven to alleviate mental disorders such as Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder. How could yoga movements heal the mind? Hypnosis throughout the ages has been used to ease illness, alleviate pain, and is used today to eliminate addictions. How does an occult practice successfully heal, while in some circles still considered an unacceptable heretical act? Is this evidence that within our culture exists a mental malpractice, moreover than the practice of the evolution of mind? Seek inner peace, be love, light, and believe in yourself.
